UNIT 4 SECOND TERM

    Three first units of first term: basic vocabulary and structures (verb to be, to have, basic questions...)
  • WHAT I NEED TO DO IT/ MATERIALS NEEDED
1.- English Alive : Student's book 1 and workbook 1
2.- A Notebook (one notebook for the English subject)
3.- A pencil case with glue, scissors, pens of different colours, ruler, rubber, pencil, crayons, correction fluid.
  • HOW I AM GOING TO BE EVALUATED
    1.- an exam or different exams assessing: grammar, vocabulary, listening, reading, writing for each unit
    3.- The notebook
    4.- The workbook and all the activities and projects done during the term
    5.- Reading activities and reading exam
6.- Every time we start a lesson, the teacher is going to check the homework and we are going to correct it. The students that have done the homework are going to have a positive point and those who not are going to have a negative point. Those points are going to be part of the evaluation at the end of each term.
7.- Taking actively part in the class

A totes les unitats es treballen les següents competències:
  • Competència en comunicació lingüística utilitzant el llenguatge com a instrument de comunicació oral i escrita que es desenvoluparà a través d'activitats de comprensió oral i escrita, construcció de vocabulari i coneixements bàsics de fonètica.
  • Competència social i ciutadana ja que conèixer una llengua implica el coneixement de trets socials i fets culturals vinculats als seus parlants i poden ser treballats paral·lelament que la unitat.
  • Educació per a la pau: la importància de conèixer i tolerar els gustos i preferències dels altres. Educació moral i cívica: la importància conèixer i respectar altres formes de vida i cultura diferents a la nostra.

Objectius (que seran agafats com a criteris d'avalaució)

  • Saber reconèixer i utilitzar vocabulari relatiu als amics i els membres de la família .
  • Poder utilitzar el llenguatge i les estructures apreses en la unitat en el context d'una conversa diària i normal.
  • Realitzar intercanvis comunicatius expressant idees sobre les qualitats que ha de tenir un bon amic i descrivint rutines .
  • Entendre i aplicar el possessive 's, l'ordre de les frases interrogatives; els adverbis de freqüènciai l'estructura like, love, have + -ing.
  • Comprendre un text oral sobre una família descrivint les seves rutines i els seus gustos i ser capaç d'identificar i interpretar informació general i més específica en textos escrits.
  • Produir la descripció d'una persona (A description of a person), utilitzant fórmules i expressions treballades en la unitat.
    Competències:
  • Competència d'aprendre a aprendre / autonomia i iniciativa personal;
    Els alumnes reflexionen i potencien la seva iniciativa personal opinant sobre els seus gustos i preferències (Activate your English, SB pàg. 39) o expressant el seu dia perfecte (Activate your English, SB pàg. 37).
    Els alumnes aprendran a elaborar petites fitxes i exercicis amb esquemes sobre el que han après en la unitat (Word Bank 4, WB pàg. 120).
    Els alumnes elaboraran les seves pròpies llistes personals de vocabulari i traducció (My personal wordlist, WB pàg. 43)
  • Educació per a la pau: la importància del respecte i la tolerància en l'àmbit familiar. I activitats de la setmana de la pau
    Educació per a la salut:     la importància de tenir hàbits saludables en la nostra vida diària.
    Educació moral i cívica:     la importància conèixer i respectar altres formes de vida i cultura diferents a la nostra., i activitats de la setmana de la pau
  • Competència artística i cultural
    Les produccions lingüístiques contenen components artístics i culturals;
    Llegir i aprendre sobre la vida en família de diversos joves britànics i australians (Different places, different lives, SB pàg. 42).
    Confeccionar la descripció d'una persona (SB pàg. 41)

a) A game: family vocabulary (4 groups of 4- two envelopes with 50 words in each with the words of the family in Catalan and English- the faster group in matching the words is the winner if everything is correct, of course)
Then they write the words in the blackboard and the rest copy them in their notebooks.

Correct exercises digital book and explain Saxon Genitive
On the blackboard the teacher uses bluetac to put some images (three family tree: simpson's family, donald's family and the British Royal Family. We are going to build sentences with the vocabulary learnt and the saxon genitive.
